Itanagar, Sept. 4 -- Intense rainfall triggered five landslides around Jang town in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, yesterday evening, blocking the Jang Bypass as well as the strategic Balipara-Charduar-Tawang (BCT) road, thereby leaving tourists and local residents stranded.
Despite adverse weather conditions, the 42 Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) under Project Vartak of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) swung into action immediately. Working tirelessly in incessant rain and challenging terrain, the teams cleared all affected stretches and restored traffic flow by midnight.
