New Delhi, Feb. 15 -- The Border Roads Organisation's (BRO) Project Hirak marked its 46th Raising Day on Sunday at Tanakpur in Uttarakhand, reaffirming its pivotal role in strengthening strategic connectivity in the Kumaon region and Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected areas of Chhattisgarh.

In a statement issued here, the BRO spokesperson stated that over the years, Project Hirak has emerged as a key infrastructure arm in enhancing border preparedness and civilian access in remote and challenging terrains.

The project played a significant role in facilitating the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 by enabling vehicle movement up to just 500 metres short of the Lipulekh Pass, substantially easing the pilgrimage route.
