New Delhi, Sept. 11 -- As dignitaries begin to arrive in Delhi on Friday ahead of the 18th BRICS Summit, roads and Metro stations across the capital wore a heightened-security look, with barricades, additional police personnel and traffic restrictions visible at several points.
Commuter movements continued, but security checks and diversions at key locations were more noticeable as the city prepared for the arrival of foreign heads of state. Police and security personnel were deployed along important roads, around hotels and on routes expected to be used by the visiting leaders.
