New Delhi, Sept. 10 -- Delhi is mounting a massive security operation starting Friday, with around 15,000 Delhi Police personnel and nearly 200 companies of paramilitary forces deployed for the 18th BRICS Summit to be held at Bharat Mandapam on September 12 and 13.

Beefed-up security measures will cover the main venue, Bharat Mandapam - where the meetings of the heads of state will take place, hotels where visiting leaders will stay, the airport and routes to be used by their convoys. Police have also stepped up surveillance along these routes, with specialised cameras being used to monitor the movement of VIP convoys and traffic.
