Bhubaneswar, Aug. 7 -- Education ministers of BRICS countries on Friday adopted the 13th BRICS Education Ministers' Declaration in Bhubaneswar, setting a five-point agenda to strengthen early childhood and foundational learning, expand skill and vocational education, promote research and innovation, facilitate academic mobility and build institutional leadership.

Delegates from Brazil, Russia, China, South Africa, Indonesia, Iran, Ethiopia and the UAE participated in the meeting.

Chairing the meeting, union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi said India's approach to BRICS cooperation remained people-centric and guided by the principle of "humanity first".
