Bhubaneswar, June 1 -- Odisha will host the Second Technical Meeting of the BRICS Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Working Group in Puri from June 3 to 5, with deliberations focusing on sustainable disaster risk reduction financing, resilient infrastructure, forecast-based action, and the integration of traditional knowledge into disaster management practices.
Briefing reporters on Monday, Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari said the state was selected to host the prestigious international event in recognition of its globally acclaimed achievements in disaster preparedness, cyclone management, and early warning systems.
