Bangkok, Sept. 5 -- World No. 2 Brazil and No. 5 Turkiye advanced to the semifinals of the2025 FIVB Women's World Championship with quarterfinal victories.

Brazil beat France 27-25, 33-31, 25-19 in a rematch of their Group C clash - won by Brazil in five sets - to set up a semifinal against Olympic champion and world No. 1 Italy on Saturday.

Trailing 19-15 in the second set, Brazil ran off four points in a row to level up at 19-19 and went on to build a 24-22 lead, but France answered with three straight points to go 25-24 up on Thursday.

The two sides traded the lead at 31-31, before Julia Gambatto Kudiess had a smash and Gabriela Braga Guimaraes converted on Brazil's fifth set point with a smart play.
