Lucknow, Feb. 19 -- Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak is nowadays in the news for his support to Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand and Brahmins.
Pathak though remained silent on the entire Shankaracharya matter for a month. But 2 days back, he spoke for the first time at a media event, saying, "The braid of the sadhus should not have been pulled. Whoever is guilty should be severely punished. Pulling the braid is a grave crime. You will see, it will be a grave sin."Although Pathak did not mention Shankaracharya by name, but the Deputy CM's move is being seen as an attempt to control the damage amid the Brahmin anger. Now the Deputy CM and his wife worshipped Brahmin students at his official residence.
