Ahmedabad, May 30 -- At a time when T20 cricket is increasingly being defined by 200-plus totals and relentless power-hitting, Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar has offered a contrasting view ahead of the IPL final, arguing that bowling, not batting, remains the decisive factor in winning championships.

Speaking to reporters on the eve of the title clash against Gujarat Titans here on Saturday, Patidar said modern T20 cricket has reached a stage where posting massive scores is no longer the biggest challenge. The tougher task, he suggested, is defending them.

"It's easy to score 200, 220. But defending 200, 220 is more difficult. So you need a better bowling side," Patidar said.
