Bagalkot, April 4 -- Former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday urged for a public debate on the contributions of Congress governments and non-Congress governments, particularly in the irrigation sector.

Addressing media persons here, Bommai said there should be an open discussion comparing the irrigation contributions of Congress governments and those of BJP and other non-Congress administrations.

He said that when he was the Irrigation Minister, he had questioned the introduction of A and B schemes in Karnataka, noting that such classifications did not exist in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.

"There is no A or B scheme; it is a single Krishna scheme," he said, adding that decisions were taken to implement it effectively....
