Haveri, July 16 -- Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Congress government, alleging a complete collapse of law and order in the state and claiming that police in Haveri district had entered into a "partnership" with drug peddlers, illegal liquor traders and gambling operators.
Addressing a massive BJP protest rally in Haveri, Bommai alleged that criminals and history-sheeters were virtually "running police stations", while narcotics, illicit liquor and gambling were flourishing openly under official patronage.
