Mumbai, April 22 -- In a significant development in the long-pending 2006 Malegaon blasts case, the Bombay High Court on Wednesday discharged four accused, citing insufficient evidence against them.

The decision was delivered by a Division Bench led by Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar, along with Justice Shyam Chandak, bringing a crucial turn in a case that has remained under judicial scrutiny for nearly two decades.

The four accused - Rajendra Chaudhary, Manohar Ram Singh Narwaria, Dhan Singh and Lokesh Sharma - were granted relief after the court found that the evidence presented by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) did not meet the required legal threshold.
