Nagpur/Mumbai , July 27 -- : The Bombay High Court on Monday granted union Minister Nitin Gadkari permission to initiate legal proceedings against social media platforms Meta, X Corp (formerly Twitter), Google LLC and other unidentified individuals over allegedly defamatory posts and artificial intelligence (AI)-generated deepfake content targeting him and his family.
Justice Abhay Ahuja, sitting as a single judge, allowed the BJP leader to file the proposed civil suit and seek interim relief, including a temporary injunction for the removal of content allegedly linking him falsely with the Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) programme and the nationwide E20 fuel initiative.
