Mumbai, Nov. 11 -- The Bombay High Court on Tuesday dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Mumbai resident Kamlakar Ratnakar Shenoy challenging the decision of the Maharashtra Energy Regulatory Commission (MERC) to discontinue audio/video recordings of the proceedings.
Dismissing the petition, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Ashvin Akhand observed that the petitioner doesn't seem to be espousing the cause of public interest but a private interest, since he has a personal grievance against the MERC.
