Mumbai, Oct. 25 -- The Bombay High Court has permitted godwoman Radhe Maa, also known as Sukhwinder Kaur, to institute a civil suit seeking legal protection of her personality rights and action against online content that she claims damages her reputation.

Justice Abhay Ahuja granted her leave to file the proposed suit under Clause XII of the Letters Patent, which deals with the court's jurisdiction to entertain certain civil proceedings.

In an order passed recently, the court clarified that its decision was confined to determining whether the proposed suit could be instituted before it. The order did not examine the merits of her allegations concerning infringement of personality rights or defamation.
