Varanasi, Feb. 13 -- A bomb threat triggered from an email has led to panic at the District and Sessions Court complex in Varanasi forcing the authorities to suspend all court proceedings on Friday.
More than 200 police personnel were rushed to the court premises soon after receing the threat mail. The District Judge stepped out of the campus as a precautionary measure, and the entire court complex was evacuated.
Teams from the bomb disposal squad and dog squad were deployed to conduct a thorough search of the premises. Police checked every corner of the complex, inspected all entry and exit points, and scanned CCTV footage as part of the security sweep.
