Mumbai, July 29 -- Mumbai Police will seek custody of an Indian-origin software professional arrested by Tamil Nadu Police for allegedly sending a series of hoax bomb threat emails to major establishments in Mumbai, officials said on Wednesday.

The accused, Sharath Subramaniam Shankar, who was working in the United States, was detained after arriving in Tamil Nadu following the issuance of a Look Out Circular (LOC). He is being questioned in connection with several cases registered in different states.

Police said their investigation found nine common features in the threat emails, suggesting they were sent by the same person. Officials said technical evidence gathered by the Tamil Nadu Police helped identify the accused.
