Bokaro, March 9 -- The Bokaro Steel Plant, a major unit of Steel Authority of India Limited, has achieved another significant milestone in strengthening its value-added steel portfolio after four new steel grades received certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards.

Official sources said that the plant has received formal approval from the BIS office in Jamshedpur to extend its existing BIS licence under IS 513 (Part 2). The approval includes the addition of four new grades ISC 440 LA, ISC 470 LA, ISC 510 LA and ISC 550 LA along with the previously available ISC 410 grade under the same standard.
