Kanpur, Jan. 20 -- The body of a nine-year-old girl was found hanging inside a classroom of a closed degree college linked to Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Rakesh Sachan, triggering shock and outrage in the area.
The incident came to light late Monday night at Baba Baijnath Degree College, which has remained shut since 2016.
The girl, identified as Vaishnavi alias Rani, was found hanging from a ceiling fan with a dupatta, police said on Tuesday. A television was reportedly playing inside the room at the time. The college watchman alerted the police after discovering the body. A forensic team was called to collect evidence from the spot.
