Buenos Aires, May 3 -- Alan Velasco and Milton Gimenez scored first-half goals as Boca Juniors edged to a 2-1 away win over Central Cordoba in Argentina's Apertura tournament.
The visitors broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute when Velasco combined with Williams Alarcon before firing a shot that deflected in off goalkeeper Alan Aguerre on Saturday.
Gimenez doubled the advantage two minutes later, tapping in from close range after Exequiel Zeballos' driving run and cross from the left.
The hosts pulled a goal back through Michael Santos just before the hour, but Boca held on to secure its eighth win of the campaign, according to Xinhua.
