Jerusalem, Aug. 4 -- The US-backed Board of Peace appeared to soften its conditions for the IDF's withdrawal from Gaza, shortly after senior officials met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Monday, amid continued efforts to secure Israeli backing to forward the Hamas disarmament plan.
In a statement issued after the meeting, the Board said Israeli forces would withdraw beyond the Yellow Line only after Hamas had completed the decommissioning of its military infrastructure.
"Contrary to inaccurate reports, we note that the withdrawal of the IDF beyond the Yellow Line will take place only once decommissioning is complete, as Hamas committed to the mediators. This applies to light weapons, heavy weapons and the tunnels...
