Mumbai, June 30 -- To strengthen air quality monitoring and provide accurate Air Quality Index (AQI) data, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation will establish five new automated air quality monitoring stations across the city.
The new stations will be located in Dadar, Mulund, Goregaon, Dahisar, and Khar.
Mumbai currently has 28 air quality monitoring stations, while experts estimate that around 60 stations are required to effectively monitor pollution levels across the city. Even after the addition of the five new stations, Mumbai will still need 27 more monitoring centres to meet the recommended capacity.
