Mumbai, May 23 -- The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has introduced important changes in the application forms related to fire safety approvals. The revised formats have been prepared for new constructions, additional constructions, repair works, final fire safety approvals, and temporary structures.
According to Additional Municipal Commissioner (City) Dr Ashwini Joshi, the modifications have been made to clearly establish that "Temporary Fire Safety Approval" granted under the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2006 (Amendment) is only a recommendation issued during the building plan approval stage. She clarified that it should not be treated as a "Fire Safety Certificate".
