Bhubaneswar, July 12 -- The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday launched the 'Catch the Rain' awareness campaign to promote rainwater harvesting and water conservation in the city.
Mayor Sulochana Das inaugurated the campaign in the presence of Deputy Mayor Manjulata Kahar, Standing Committee on Health and Sanitation Chairman Biranchi Narayan Mahasupakar, Additional Commissioner Subhendu Kumar Sahu, local corporator Biplab Behera and other corporators.
Part of the nationwide initiative of the National Water Mission under the union Ministry of Jal Shakti, the campaign encourages citizens and institutions to adopt rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge and sustainable water management practices.
