Lucknow, Aug. 24 -- Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar on Monday described Booth Level Officers (BLOs) as the "true foundation of democracy" and emphasised the importance of electoral awareness among young voters.
Kumar made the remarks during a visit to his alma mater, Colvin Taluqdars' College in Lucknow, where he interacted with students and elaborated about the transparency of the electoral process.
Appearing emotional on returning to his former school, the CEC recalled his long-standing connection with Lucknow and said his time at the institution had been a decisive turning point in his life.
