Bengaluru, June 3 -- Senior Congress leader BK Hariprasad has been appointed as the new president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), replacing DK Shivakumar following his elevation as Chief Minister of the state.

The organisational change comes in the wake of Shivakumar taking oath as Karnataka Chief Minister on Wednesday, necessitating a leadership reshuffle within the state Congress unit as part of the party's internal transition arrangement.
