Palakkad, April 2 -- A group of BJP workers allegedly blocked the campaign of United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate Ramesh Pisharady in the Palakkad constituency on Wednesday night, triggering a political controversy during the peak election period.
The incident occurred around 1930 hrs on April 1 at Manakalathody near a temple premises at Vadakkanthara, when Pisharady, along with Congress workers led by mandalam president Anil Balan, arrived as part of a constituency-wide outreach programm.
A group of BJP workers, led by Vadakanthara ward councilor Sindhu Rajan, reportedly prevented their entry into the ward, considered a BJP stronghold, leading to a brief altercation.
