Nagpur, May 28 -- : Maharashtra Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar on Thursday accused the BJP-led government of diverting public attention from pressing issues such as inflation, unemployment, and soaring fuel prices by fuelling Hindu-Muslim tensions and creating emotionally charged controversies.
Speaking to reporters on the row over Bakri Eid prayers at Durgadi Fort in Kalyan near Mumbai, Wadettiwar alleged that the ruling dispensation was deliberately fostering religious discord to conceal its governance failures.
"Creating an atmosphere of polarisation and religious hatred has become their business," the Congress Legislature Party leader said.
