Shimla, March 21 -- The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly criticised the 2026 Himachal Pradesh budget presented by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday, terming it a "back gear budget" that will push the state's development backwards.
Addressing the media in Shimla, state BJP state president Rajeev Bindal alleged that the budget lacks vision and fails to address the aspirations of the people.
He claimed that the government has reduced allocations by nearly Rs 4,000 crore compared to the previous year, which could adversely affect developmental works across sectors.
