Hyderabad, Aug. 15 -- The BJP Telangana State Office marked the 79th Independence Day with patriotic fervour as State President N. Ramchandra Rao unfurled the national flag, paying homage to martyrs and freedom fighters.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar attended the celebrations as the chief guest.

In his address, Rao extended greetings to the people and noted that this was his first Independence Day flag-hoisting since assuming charge as state president. He hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, pointing out that Modi has now hoisted the tricolour from the Red Fort for the 12th consecutive time - the longest in history by a non-Congress leader - and praised his vision for a "Developed India by 2047."...
