Ranchi, March 7 -- Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in Jharkhand on Saturday criticised West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the alleged breach of protocol during President Droupadi Murmu's visit to West Bengal and also questioned the silence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on the issue.
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi termed the alleged conduct of the West Bengal government towards the President as condemnable and unfortunate.
Referring to the President's participation in the Ninth International Santhal Conference in Darjeeling, Marandi said the manner in which the visit was handled was not appropriate for the country's highest constitutional office.
