Hyderabad, July 22 -- Tension gripped Nampally on Wednesday as BJP Telangana State President N Ramchander Rao was arrested by police while leading a protest rally towards Gandhi Bhavan to condemn the Congress party's alleged remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Heavy police deployment was made at the BJP state office in Nampally and around Gandhi Bhavan to prevent the proposed siege. Police personnel surrounded the BJP office and intercepted party leaders and activists as they attempted to march towards the Congress state headquarters.
