Mumbai, Oct. 1 -- BJP Maharashtra chief spokesperson Navnath Ban on Thursday questioned the proposed joint march by Shiv Sena (UBT) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, saying political parties should maintain consistency in their position on the exercise.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP state office, Ban said SIR had been undertaken in different states and alleged that its acceptance or opposition was being viewed differently depending on electoral outcomes.

He said the proposed march in Mumbai would involve expenditure on transportation and other arrangements and suggested that such resources could instead be used to support drought-affected farmers.
