Hyderabad, June 7 -- Telangana BJP President N. Ramchander Rao on Saturday strongly criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for his recent remarks about top constitutional functionaries, accusing him of promoting divisive politics and undermining national unity.

Addressing party workers at the Pandit Deendayal Training Camp in Yadagirigutta, Ramchander Rao said he was surprised and disappointed by the Chief Minister's comments made during an interaction at The Hindu Huddle in Bengaluru.

Referring to Revanth Reddy's remarks that the President, Prime Minister, Home Minister and Defence Minister all hail from northern India and that he felt "ashamed" to salute them, the BJP leader said such statements were inappropriate and divisive.
