Mumbai, Jan. 9 -- In an attempt to prevent rebels from filing nomination papers till the very last moment, the BJP-Shinde Sena-led Mahayuti maintained strict secrecy during the municipal election process. However, despite meticulous planning, this strategy has backfired on the alliance itself.
Due to last-minute confusion, it has emerged that the Mahayuti has failed to field candidates in four wards, effectively conceding these seats even before the results are declared. As a result, out of the total 227 wards, Mahayuti candidates will be contesting in only 223 wards.
