Bengaluru, Oct. 28 -- BJP MP Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri today demanded a judicial inquiry into what he described as large-scale corruption in procurement activities undertaken by the office of Karnataka Assembly Speaker UT Khader, alleging that several contracts were awarded at hugely inflated rates with the alleged backing of the Chief Minister.

Addressing reporters at BJP headquarters, Kageri said serious questions had emerged over the transparency and integrity of purchases made during Khader's tenure. He claimed that tenders were repeatedly awarded only to select individuals and firms from Mangaluru, raising concerns of favouritism and conflict of interest.
