Ranchi, May 18 -- Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday demanded a judicial probe into allegations of sexual exploitation of a woman inmate at Birsa Munda Central Jail and accused the state administration of attempting to suppress the matter.
Addressing a press conference, BJP state spokesperson Ajay Sah alleged that jail superintendent Kumar Chandrashekhar and other officials were involved in the case and sought their immediate suspension pending investigation.
Sah claimed that evidence was being destroyed and alleged that attempts were made to conceal the matter through administrative intervention. He also accused prison authorities of facilitating illegal activities inside the jail premises.
