Ranchi, April 23 -- BJP Jharkhand spokesperson Ajay Sah on Thursday demanded removal of the CID chief, saying a fair probe into the alleged treasury scam is not possible otherwise.
Sah alleged that despite the chief minister's directions, the CID inquiry has not begun, raising questions over the investigation process.
He claimed the scam, initially estimated at around Rs 3.5 crore, has expanded to multiple districts with figures reaching about Rs 350 crore.
Sah said the probe was proposed to be handed over to CID to ensure an independent investigation, but alleged that concentration of key police positions with one officer has raised concerns over impartiality.
