Siliguri, March 9 -- Political temperature in north Bengal has begun to rise over the alleged breach of protocol during President Droupadi Murmu's Saturday visit to Siliguri, with the opposition now trying to use the issue to galvanise public opinion ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections.
A public meeting was held in Siliguri on Monday to protest what organisers described as a lack of showing due respect to the President during her visit. The meeting was organised jointly by the Siliguri Sachetan Nagarik Manch and the Janjati Suraksha Manch, drawing participation from local activists and supporters.
