New Delhi, May 22 -- Tension prevailed in the Pitampura area of Delhi's Shakur Basti Assembly constituency after a structure built on alleged DDA land was demolished on Friday by supporters and local residents accompanying BJP MLA Jarnail Singh.
Singh claimed that the structure was allegedly being constructed illegally as a madrasa on Delhi Development Authority (DDA) land. He claimed that the structure was demolished by locals and his supporters during the action.
The MLA further alleged that another temporary structure nearby was being referred to as a mosque by residents. He stated that court orders had already been issued directing the occupants to vacate the land, claiming it belongs to the DDA.
