Saharanpur, Nov. 8 -- A local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was found shot dead at his residence in Saharanpur district on Saturday morning.

The body of 65-year-old Dharam Singh, Mandal Vice President of Ambheta, was discovered lying on a cot in the courtyard behind his house in Didoli village under the Nakur police station limits.

According to police, Singh's daughter-in-law discovered the body when she went to serve him tea early in the morning. On finding him lying in a pool of blood, she raised an alarm, following which family members and villagers rushed to the spot.
