Kolkata, Sept. 9 -- A local court in the city today rejected the bail plea of arrested BJP leader Rakesh Singh and remanded him in jail custody up to September 18, court sources said.

BJP leader Rakesh Singh was arrested in the early hours of September 3 in the alleged attack on Bidhan Bhawan, the headquarters of the West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee in the central part of the city to protest against using filthy language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother in Bihar.
