Kolkata, Sept. 22 -- West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee president Subhankar Sarkar on Tuesday said the arrest and continued judicial custody of Nandigram bypoll candidate Milan Pradhan would not stop the party's campaign, claiming that "thousands of Milan Pradhans" would take to the field and reach out to voters across the constituency.
"BJP is scared of Congress. If one Milan Pradhan is in jail, thousands of Milan Pradhans are campaigning in Nandigram," Sarkar told reporters after an organisational meeting with district Congress presidents.
Pradhan was arrested on September 18 in connection with pending cases dating back to the 2007 Nandigram land-acquisition agitation. He was subsequently remanded to judicial custody till October 3....
