Lucknow, July 14 -- Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), calling it a "party of thugs" and claiming that the people of the state will wipe out the BJP in the 2027 assembly elections.

In a statement here on Tuesday, Yadav alleged that inflation, corruption, crime, injustice, and loot are rampant under the BJP government.

Referring to the alleged theft of offerings and embezzlement of jewellery at the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, he said that this is a betrayal of faith and the BJP leadership should be ashamed of it.
