Hyderabad, Feb. 13 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana President N Ramchander Rao on Friday said the party had significantly improved its performance in the municipal elections, emerging as the single largest party in about six municipalities and winning over 250 wards so far across the state.

Addressing a media conference at the BJP state office, Rao said the party was making strong gains for the first time in major urban centres such as Nizamabad and Karimnagar municipal corporations and was on course to win around 70 divisions in municipal corporations.

He said the BJP had also registered notable improvement in areas such as Mancherial, Ramagundam and Nalgonda.
