Ranchi, June 9 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jharkhand unit president Aditya Sahu on Tuesday rejected Congress allegations of horse-trading in the Rajya Sabha election and accused the party of attempting to secure support beyond its numerical strength in the Assembly.
Addressing a press conference here, Sahu said the BJP had decided not to field its own candidate because it lacked the required numbers and had instead extended support to independent candidate Parimal Nathwani.
He alleged that the Congress, despite having only 16 MLAs in the Jharkhand Assembly, was questioning others while depending on support from alliance partners for the election of its nominee.
