New Delhi, July 31 -- The conviction and life imprisonment of former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councillor Tahir Hussain for the murder of Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer Ankit Sharma during the 2020 northeast Delhi riots triggered a fierce political exchange on Friday, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) describing the verdict as justice for the slain officer and an indictment of the AAP, while the opposition party defended its decision to expel Hussain immediately after allegations surfaced against him.
