Kolkata, June 1 -- West Bengal's first Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, which was sworn in on May 9, is set to undergo a major cabinet expansion on Monday.

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced on Sunday evening that 35 MLAs will take oath as ministers, completing the formation of the state's first full-fledged BJP ministry.

Apart from Adhikari, five ministers, including Dilip Ghosh and Agnimitra Paul, had taken oaths as cabinet ministers on May 9.

Following Monday's swearing-in ceremony, the strength of the council of ministers will rise to 41, giving a clearer picture of the government's administrative structure and policy priorities.
