New Delhi, April 10 -- Devender Yadav, President of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, alleged that despite the allocation of crores of rupees for education in the Delhi Budget, students of Classes I to VIII in government schools have not received textbooks even after the commencement of the 2026-27 academic session.

He said this reflects negligence towards public education under the BJP-led administration in Delhi.

He further alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party government headed in Delhi by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has failed to ensure timely distribution of books, leaving lakhs of students waiting even after the academic session began on April 1.
