Bhubaneswar, Aug. 10 -- The Opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Monday accused the BJP government in Odisha of failing to fulfil its electoral promises on employment, alleging that its claim of providing jobs to 45,000 youths in the past two years was misleading.
BJD spokesperson and media coordinator Lenin Mohantyin a statement said the government had counted appointments against recruitment advertisements issued during the previous Naveen Patnaik government to project a higher employment figure.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, in a statement on Monday, said his government had provided appointments to 45,000 candidates to various government posts during the last two years.
